The R&T Software Engineer 3 will take ownership and/or support technical engineering teams and projects related to engineering and R&T products/systems and components. Using sound engineering principles, this engineer will interface with cross functional groups (internal and external) to ensure robust, airworthy designs are attained which meet budget, schedule and internal requirements and goals. This leadership position will be responsible for participating in and leading improvement activities at a group and/or company level.
This position contributes to our vision by:
- Design and implementation experience of advanced AI/ML models, RAG, LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, data pipelines.
- Experience in Python, TensorFlow, and PyTorch, JAX, Claude/Open AI LLMs with a focus on delivering scalable AI solutions.
- Experience in Vector DBs such as Pinecone/ Chroma DB, and frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face Transformers.
- Design and develop full-stack applications for device management, control, and aircraft fleet coordination.
- Build and maintain mobile apps (React Native/Android) and web apps used by operators in the field.
- Develop web dashboards and APIs for maintenance planning, status, and data analysis.
- Integrate AWS services for data storage, monitoring, and deployment.
- Ensure reliable, low-latency communication between cloud systems and aircraft on-board equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver seamless end-to-end functionality.
- Write documentation for APIs, architecture, and software modules.
- Optimize software for scalability, reliability, and field performance.
- Lead product cybersecurity risk assessment, requirements, and architecture by collaborating with product development teams.
- Ensure software solutions comply with data privacy, governance & security best practices on AWS cloud.
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field.
Experience:
- 9+ years of experience, 3+ years of experience in a leadership/management role, 3+ years of experience in aerospace / automotive / technology or similar industry.
- Has experience with the entire end-to-end software development life cycle implementation:
- Design specifications, write documentation, define scope/limitations
- Work in both agile and waterfall development models.
- Effectively troubleshoot and debug issues that are technical or behavioral.
- Provide continuous meaningful improvements.
Strong knowledge of the full technology stack:
- Experience in data modeling, creating queries, stored procedures, triggers, and optimization for performance.
- Expert in object-oriented programming, parallel processing and design patterns including dependency injection.
- Experience in design and implementation of security, access control, and robust data validation.
- Experience in service-oriented architecture and integration of systems.
- Experience in implementation of fast and responsive user interface along with experience in integration of third-party framework and components.
- Experience in web application development.
Technical Skills (programming languages, protocols, technologies, frameworks): - Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Web technologies: HTTP, REST, JSON, SOAP, and XML.

- Databases: Any RDBMS, No-SQL Databases, and Vector DB.
